Cameron Diaz purchases NYC condo for $9 million

While many people dream of buying a home in New York City, some never have the chance to do so. Celebrities often set up their primary base in the Big Apple, with many others purchasing a home that they can use as a second property while on the east coast.

Cameron Diaz, one of the most popular actresses in the world, recently purchased a condominium in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City at a cost of $9 million. Condominiums are very popular among buyers in the city, thanks to the low maintenance and upscale amenities.

Diaz is under contract to purchase a condo in Walker Tower. While her sales price of $9 million may sound high, the penthouse in the same building recently changed hands for $55 million. This goes a long way in showing just how expensive real estate can be in NYC.

Her condo features three bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and of course, some of the best views the city has to offer. She will be able to see Freedom Tower and the Statue of Liberty from her condo.

As if the price is not high enough, residents of this building have to pay an HOA free ($2,745 per month for Diaz) for amenities including concierge, fitness center, playroom, sauna, rooftop deck, and a 24-hour doorman among others.

Condominiums are always being bought and sold in New York City, with celebrities like Diaz frequently getting in on the action. Anybody who is interested in purchasing a home in NYC should consider getting a professional real estate attorney on their side.
